Det er en stor stor fornøjelse, at vi igen kan præsentere et af de mest autentiske orkestre vi i nyere tid, har haft besøg af. Bratislava Hot Serenaders fra Slovakiet tager sit publikum med tilbage til den tidlige jazz og skaber en ramme, som er så ægte og autentisk, at man glemmer, at man er i år 2022.
Bratislava Hot Serenaders-orkestret hører til listen over de få udelukkende "tidlige jazz"-orienterede bands i verden. Bandets 20 entusiastiske musikere har spillet sammen uden afbrydelser siden dannelsen af gruppen i 1991. Deres spil holder sig til lyden, stilen og følelsen af orkestre som Paul Whiteman, Jean Goldkette og Duke Ellington, ud over at have tjekkiske, Slovakiske og andre europæiske klassiske jazzmelodier fra perioden.
Bratislava hot Serenaders er veletablerede uden for Slovakiet. I 1994 vandt orkestret Sidney d´Or Prix ved Grand Festival of Music i 20'erne og 30'erne i Saint Raphael, Frankrig. I 2014, 2015, 2016 og 2018 startede bandet på en 14-21 dages turné i Storbritannien, hvor de optrådte på Marlborough Jazz Festival, Edinburgh Jazz Festival og Glasgow Vintage Festival for blot at nævne nogle få. Fremtidige rejseplaner inkluderer en UK-turné i 2020 igen.
Orchestra Bratislava Hot Serenaders har indspillet tolv cd-albums, to vinyler og den første slovakiske musik-dvd. To slovakiske cd'er blev bestsellere - den første vandt en platin-cd, den anden vandt en guld-cd. Lonely Melody vandt Radio_Head Award, og I Like That Esprit Prize 2018.
The Bratislava Hot Serenaders orchestra belongs to the list of the few strictly “early jazz” oriented bands in the world. The band’s 20 enthusiastic musicians have played together without interruption since the formation of the group in 1991. Their playing adheres to the sound, style, and feel of such orchestra’s as Paul Whiteman, Jean Goldkette, and Duke Ellington, in addition to featuring Czech, Slovak, and other European classic jazz tunes of the period. The Bratislava hot Serenaders are well established outside of Slovakia. In 1994 the orchestra won the Sidney d´Or Prix at the Grand Festival of Music of 20´s and 30´s in Saint Raphael, France. In 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2018 the band embarked upon a 14-21 day tour of the U.K., performing at the Marlborough Jazz Festival, Edinburgh Jazz Festival, and Glasgow Vintage Festival to name but a few. Future travel plans include a 2020 UK tour again.
The Orchestra Bratislava Hot Serenaders have recorded twelve CD albums, two Vinyls and the first Slovak music DVD. Two Slovak CDs became best-sellers - the first one winning a platinum CD, the second winning a gold CD. Lonely Melody won Radio_Head Award, and I Like That Esprit Prize 2018.
