Dusty Rag Jazz Band started in 2015, when a group of friends wanted to bring New Orleans street music to the streets and parks of Copenhagen; with warm, direct sound and unpretentious stage performances, the infectious energy, joy, and curious improvisation that have become the band's trademark are created. The repertoire mainly consists of traditional jazz numbers with blues and folk roots from 20th-century America, as well as original compositions. The band has performed on stages and at festivals such as Østersø Jazz, Copenhagen Jazz, Riverboat Jazz, Folk & Fæstival, Ærø Jazz Festival, and Femø Jazz Festival, as well as in clubs and the swing dance scene, where Happy Feet, Swing Shoes, and Hep Cats have often collaborated with them.
