Cecilie Strange + Rumpistol
"Cecilie Strange graduated with a Master of Music in rhythmic saxophone and composition from the Academy of Music of Southern Denmark in Odense in 2012.
She is also the other half of the improvising duo K A L E II D O in the ambient jazz genre. A duo that invites new guests to every concert.
Cecilie has been nominated in 5 categories for the Danish Music Award Jazz in 2021 and 2023 as well as 1 Danish Music Award Roots 2023 with the group TINGO.
In addition, she has been nominated 4 years in a row for the Carl Prize: 2021,2022, 2023 & 2024 as Composer of the Year in Jazz, and won with the group
The musician Rumpistol usually has his way in the meeting between ambient, jazz and neoclassical music.
On Riverboat he is paired with the fantastic saxophonist Cecilie Strange, who last year appeared on Rumpistol's “Be Open pt. 2”.
In addition to being a fantastic solo artist, Cecilie Strange also plays in the duo KALEIIDO with Anna Roemer, who in 2024 won the Carl Prize (Jazz Composer of the Year), for the album “Places”, which Rumpistol was also a part of.
Over the years, Rumpistol has performed in the USA, Mexico, China and Brazil, and has been played on the BBC by both Gilles Peterson and the late John Peel. He will release his ninth album "Nebula" on May 13, 2025.
