Fully expanded big band crew of 16 musicians under the direction of Gustav Hagner.

Silkeborg Big Band has been an institution in the city's musical life for a number of years. The orchestra has a diverse repertoire, both classic big band music and newer things. It is exuberant and outgoing music with a lot of emphasis on the rhythmic, sonorous and improvisational. The orchestra uses guest soloists to a large extent, both talented locals and professionals. For this year's concert, Gershwin's 'Rhapsody in Blue' for Bing Band has been arranged as the main number. The concert is a piano concert with pianist Tine Fenger as soloist.
